Our Holiday Cards!

Image courtesy of Designed By M.E. Stationery

We have holiday cards! For some reason I love sending out holiday cards every year. I don't know what it is but I just enjoy writing to all of our friends and family and then getting their cards back. We always put them on our doors and it brings a smile to my face every time I see them. This year I ordered my cards from Maria at Designed by M.E. Stationery. Maria also did all of the stationary for our wedding. I'm really happy with the cards and can't wait to mail them out!

Lily!

As promised I’ve got some pictures of my new cousin to post. Chuck and I went to visit her last weekend and she’s adorable. She smiled every time Chuck talked to her which made me melt right there in the hospital room.

Our first Thanksgiving!

I am proud to announce that Mr. and Mrs. D’s first Thanksgiving was a success! I really didn’t think offering to make Thanksgiving dinner this year was a big deal when I volunteered Chuck and I to do it and I didn’t stress about it at all before the actual day. Once we got to my parents’ house to make dinner though I started to panic. How would everything come together and how will the turkey turn out? Thankfully everything came together and we enjoyed a nice dinner with my family and Chuck’s mom.

I would like to thank my wonderful husband for helping me with everything. His birthday fell on Thanksgiving this year and yet he spent the entire day in the kitchen with me and even got a nasty burn on his arm from the stuffing pan (and managed not to drop it while getting the burn). I love you and don’t deserve you.

We've Been Blogged!!!

For our wedding I wanted to try and do some things a little different that might standout as something our guests had not seen before. One idea I got from a fellow bride (meadowcroft14) on projectwedding.com. We bought 5 bottles of wine to use as our guestbook and asked our guests to sign them for us so that we could open them on our one, five, ten, twentieth, and thirty-year anniversaries. Maria from Designed By M.E. Stationery made a sign for us to put with the bottles. Maria also made the other signs for our reception, place cards, table numbers, programs, and my favorite our drool worthy invitations (she’s doing our Christmas cards too!). So if you have time head over to her blog and check out our wine bottle guestbook as well as the other fabulous ideas she has.

Welcome Baby Lily!

I just got a text message that my uncle’s fiancĂ© just gave birth to my new baby cousin. Lily Ann was born today around 3:45 P.M. and is 8lbs 13oz….mom and baby are doing great. My mom happened to be working at the hospital so she got to be in the delivery room. We are hoping to visit Lily on Saturday so hopefully I’ll have lots of pictures to post on Monday. Don’t tell Chuck but I’m hoping when he sees the baby he’ll want one too. I’ve got baby fever lately and he’s being no fun with it.

I'm Mrs. D!

I was just looking at the pictures my mom posted on Facebook from my cousin, Melissa’s wedding a few weeks ago. Out of all the pictures she took on that beautiful day and fun night I found my favorite and it doesn’t even have the bride or groom in it. When we arrived at the country club for the reception I walked over to the place card table to find ours and went right for the H’s (my maiden name). There was nothing there and I quickly reminded myself that I’d been Mrs. D for a month and should really start remembering it. Low and behold there we were…..Mr. and Mrs. Charles D! My mother was nice enough to document this big event for us so that we can show the kids and grandkids one day.
