Photo Thursday

It's an oldie but a goodie. This was taken at our family bbq for Memorial Day 2007. As you can see I had just chopped my hair off (which I do every summer) and it was lighter. I used to like this look but now that I've got the red/dark brown color I realize I just look better with darker hair.

I can't believe we weren't even engaged in this picture. Chuck would ask me to marry him until September of that year. Isn't crazy how time flies?

It's Tuesday!!!

Which means one thing....LOST is on tonight! I'm counting down to 9PM when I will sit and not even touch my Blackberry for an hour and just enjoy the amazingness (that should be a real word) that is LOST.

Who else is a LOST fan? What did you think of last week's premiere and what are some of the questions you want answered but the end of the show?

Top 2 Tuesday!

Head on over to Jimmy Choos & a Baby Too to put your two sense in on her top two this week.

My top 2 dream jobs are...

1) Wedding Planner - I love weddings and really enjoyed planning ours for two years but there were so many other ideas I had but couldn't use. I'd love to take those ideas and my super obsessive planning skills to help other brides plan their big day.

2) Stay at home mom - This was never something I wanted to do but now that I'm getting older and closer to having children I realize I would love to be able to stay at home with them all the time. I don't know if it will be possible when we are ready for babies but I hope so!

Let me know if you play Top 2 Tuesday so I can check out all of your answers.

Photo Thursday

In an effort to get my butt in gear to post more I'm starting Photo Thursday.

Today's photo is from our rehearsal dinner and its of my best friend, Erin and I. Erin and I met sophomore year in high school in St. Ingrid's 1st period English class. We were friends from then on but lost touch when we graduated. Luckily Erin transferred to my school in the second semester freshman year of college. We ended up walking into Intro to Education and seeing each other. That was 8 years ago and we've been friends ever since. We've helped each other through everything (especially getting over all of the losers we've dated) and I was lucky enough to have her as a bridesmaid in my wedding. She was there for me during the 2 years of planning and on my big day. Thank you Erin for being such an amazing friend (and bridesmaid). I can't wait to do the same for you one day.

I got to meet the Pioneer Woman!

Ok I know this is really late but Chemistry and Biology are taking up all of my time. Plus LOST just started (I'm so sad its going to be over forever).

Now onto my recap of the Pioneer Woman book signing I went to (and dragged Chuck to). The signing was in West Chester, PA which was 1 1/2-2 hours from us. It was a cold rainy day but that didn't matter since I had been looking forward to this for months. I called that morning when the store opened and bought my book over the phone so they could give me a number. I got number.....

Not bad at all....especially since there were over 250 people there. The signing started at 2:30 and we got to the book store around 11:30. Poor Chuck had to work 11PM-7AM the night before so he had only had a couple hours of sleep. I'd like to thank him for coming with me especially since he had to work the same hours again that night. He was a trooper. They had chairs set-up in the back so we grabbed a seat (there were already a huge group of people) and did some reading.

Finally it was time for Ree to come out! She was so sweet and funny. Chuck was instantly smitten and finally understood why I enjoy her blog so much. She answered a bunch of questions from the audience (including how she is probably going to be publishing Black Heels to Tracker Wheels!)

After the Q&A it was time to line up!

Slowly we made our way up to the front.

Before long we were finally there and got to meet Ree. Chuck was nice enough to take a picture of me talking to her about her hair. While I can see how it wasn't her normal red color it still looked good.

Then Chuck jumped in so we could get a quick picture with her.

Even though the weather was dreary and wet we both had a good time and really enjoyed meeting the Pioneer Woman. She took her time with everyone and was so sweet and nice. As for her cookbook.....we love it! So far our two favorite recipes are her meatloaf and Marlboro Man's favorite sandwich. They are both so yummy and pretty easy to make. I'm not much of a cook but I'm getting better and would recommend Ree's cookbook to anyone who's looking for something new.

Anyone else have the PW cookbook? If so what is your favorite recipe from it?

If you don't have it then what is your favorite recipe you've recently tried?

Sorry

Sorry I haven't been around recently! I cannot believe how long it's been since I made a blog post. The end of 2009 and the beginning of 2010 were extremely busy. First I decided to leave my full-time job to go back to school so I gave my notice at work. Surprisingly they found my replacement quickly so for the entire month of December and the first two weeks in January I did nothing but train her. After leaving work I started hunting for a part-time job to work while in school. I cannot believe how hard this was. Luckily I eventually found a job at a local salon. It's only one day a week which isn't great but it works for right now since my school schedule is busy. Speaking of school I started back on Wednesday! I quickly realized I might of bitten off more than I can chew with school since I haven't taken a class in five years and I registered for Biology and Chemistry this semester. It's going to be a lot of work but I'm confident that I'll do well.

So that's been my life lately. I've got tons of pictures to post from the holidays and the Pioneer Woman book signing which I will hopefully get to within the week. Anything big going on with anyone? Please share away in the comments section.
